Project Description
Ludmilla’s Creations
The art of weaving is typical of my land Puglia a region in the South of Italy.
I started to copy Apulian baskets which you still find in markets for fishes or vegetables.
From them I switched to those of other regions, states and ages.
The baskets are for uses more various: for cats and dogs, for picnic, for shopping or prams for children.
The Victorian age is my favorite and I had search to do more shapes used in this period. Every basket is different for colour and appearance.
A day I decided to copy a old frog used as magazine rack that I had at home. From this it was born Ludmilla’s Zoo, a dare to realize shapes increasingly complex.
My last challenge is to make single pieces branded with my paw in red to offer to customers an unrepeatable ,unique item to collect.
