I have been a doll artist for over 12 years, in this time my expertise and knowledge has grown in many areas of doll making. Heverbell Doll produces exquisite delicate porcelain dolls, the journey starts with the initial casting in the mould to the finished elaborate costume. Making dolls is a creativity using an array of disciplines – imagination, designing sculpted form, mould making, china painting, research & costume design. I love working on the little details. These miniature dolls can be gently posed in your dolls house or displayed in your collection.
Over the last few years I have been developing a range of Ball Jointed Dolls, these dolls are made from fine porcelain, so the process starts with designing a mould making which is like building three dimensional puzzle pieces. The dolls have 20 articulating joints (all lined with leather) working on mechanisms comprising of springs, swivels, pins and hooks all connected in a strict configuration. I am also developing a resin line which is a whole new ball game (no pun intended), so watch this space.
I do take commissions, should you have any ideas that you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact me.
